Meridians for bodyworks
Learn the system of energy (the meridians) for balancing the body and treating illness. The meridians are presented in a hands-on way along with major acupuncture points and stretches. Learn the names, functions, and location of the meridians in a way that enables immediate application for self-help and bodywork.

Working with ease and flowing energy
Learn how to maintain balance and energy in yourself as you help clients toward better balance and health. Explore how to give bodywork in a way that supports and increases your vitality. This course will cover breath work, postural alignment, stretching, and visualizations in conjunction with simple shiatsu moves.

Fundamentals of Oriental medicine
Study the theoretical underpinnings of Oriental medicine, an ancient healing system utilized around the world by herbalists and acupuncturists as well as bodyworks. The concepts of Yin-Yang, five phases, and eight principles will be explored in depth, and the key acupuncture points for balancing the energy will be covered.

Introduction to Oriental Diagnosis
Learn the four diagnostic methods of Oriental Medicine (looking, listening, questioning, and touching). The technique of touching diagnosis especially relevant to shiatsu and bodywork will be emphasized. Acquire a basic framework for understanding and assessing energy imbalances. Palpate the pulse and abdomen for meridian diagnosis.

Psychosomatic Integration for Bodyworkers
In Oriental medicine both the body and mind are balanced. Learn about the five phases of transformation and the mental and emotional aspects of the meridians. Explore how breath and touch profoundly affect the psyche and how this facilitates the release of blocked energy to promotes healing. Learn how to relax the mind and calm emotions

Introduction to Sotai Therapy
Sotai Therapy is a Japanese system gentle exercises for structural integration. Sotai is a perfect complement to shiatsu, both for treatment and as movement education to facilitate healing in clients with pain and physical dysfunction. Learn about the theory and basic techniques of this natural approach to structural integration.

Shiatsu and Structural Integration
Expand assessment and treatment skills by applying the principles of shiatsu, stretching, and Sotai. Increase your repertoire of Sotai techniques, and learn to engage and facilitate the release of core restrictions. Build on a foundation of energy balancing to encourage the cultivation of balance applying awareness, breath, and gentle movements.
